With 37 years of Law Enforcement experience, Barry Golner leads GSI with a wealth of knowledge and leadership. Having served with the Hudson New Hampshire Police and the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department, Barry brings expertise in strategic planning, community policing, and investigations. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, the FBI National Academy, and the DEA Drug Unit Commander Academy.
Golner retired as the Interim Superintendent of Police for the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department. Lowell is the 4th largest police department in the Commonwealth with approximately 250 sworn officers and approximately 100 civilian employees. He was responsible for developing and managing a budget of over 30 million dollars.
As a leader, Golner was instrumental in the development of the Youth Services program, Body Warn Cameras, creating partners both private and public, maintaining the department’s accreditation program and increasing the department’s training and school resource officer assets.
Christopher Finneral spent almost 10 years in Law Enforcement before leaving the profession to pursue a career in the construction industry. Finneral worked for the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department where he was a patrol officer, and detective in the Criminal Investigation Bureau. Finneral has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
After leaving Law Enforcement, Finneral has owned and operated Jamesco Development, a highly successful custom construction business. Jamesco specializes in custom home building and renovations and operates in several New England States.
Finneral brings years of hard work and dedication to the security and investigation industry. His success as a Law Enforcement officer and entrepreneur are the perfect combination to complement GSI and our employees.
With over 31 years of Law Enforcement experience, Dave Bianchi brings extensive expertise and leadership to GSI. Having served with the Hudson Police Department, he retired from full-time service on December 31, 2022, and currently holds the position of Special Officer. During his career, he rose to the rank of Captain, specializing in crash reconstruction and crime scene investigation.
An A.C.T.A.R.-accredited Crash Reconstructionist since 2001, he commanded the Hudson Police Crash Reconstruction Team starting in 1999 and co-led the Crime Scene Search Team. He has personally investigated over 400 crashes, ranging from minor incidents to fatalities involving various types of vehicles and off-road vehicles. In addition, he has reviewed and approved thousands of accident reports throughout his career.
Bianchi holds Associate Degrees in both Liberal Arts and Criminal Justice from Mount Wachusett Community College and has received extensive training and certifications in crash reconstruction. As an expert witness, he has testified in Nashua courts and before the State of New Hampshire Bureau of Hearings.
William Avery brings 29 years of Law Enforcement experience to Golner Security and Investigations. He has served both the Manchester New Hampshire and Hudson New Hampshire Police Departments, spending most of his career in Hudson where he rose to the rank of Chief of Police.
Throughout his career, Avery held positions in every rank within the Hudson Police Department and commanded the Patrol Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and Legal Division. As Chief of Police, he led 81 employees and was instrumental in maintaining the department’s National Accreditation with CALEA.
Avery also served as a Staff Instructor at the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council and managed a nine-million-dollar budget for the Town of Hudson Police Department. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from Norwich University Military College of Vermont.
Donald Crawford retired as a captain with the Lowell Massachusetts Police Department and brings 32 years of Law Enforcement service to the GSI Team. Crawford is also a Lieutenant Commander with the United States Navy Reserve (Intelligence Unit).
Crawford served in many capacities as a Police Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain. Crawford has significant investigative experience, having spent time as a Sergeant in the Criminal Investigation Bureau and as a Lieutenant in charge of the Professional Standards Bureau. He has a plethora of training between his Law Enforcement career and the United States Navy with a concentration in Operational Intelligence, Counterintelligence and Instruction of Basic Intelligence.
Crawford also spent significant time as the Commanding Officer of the Patrol Division and brings his expertise in critical incident
management to our security team.
David Frechette is a retired Lowell Massachusetts Police Sergeant with 32 years of Law Enforcement and corrections experience.
Frechette spent approximately 25 years as a team member of the Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Swat Team (NEMLEC). He was a SWAT team leader and operator. Over the course of his career, Frechette has been a firearms instructor, use of force instructor, taser instructor and defensive tactics instructor. Frechette served as a Staff Instructor at the Police Academy and many years as a member of the department’s Motor Unit.
Frechette has specialized training from the IACP in Tactical Operations and High-Risk Warrant Service, and the IACP Executive and Dignitary Protection training. Frechette has been working executive protection and high-level dignitary protection since 2009
